the development of China's architectural coatings industry in 2003
August 19, 2004
architectural coatings account for half of the coating industry
in recent years, China's architectural coatings industry has developed at an unprecedented speed, basically meeting the needs of urban construction. Its output has increased year after year, reaching 1.5 million tons per year, with an increase rate of 18.36% (according to the December 2003 report of the National Bureau of Statistics). Fortunately, latex paint has occupied a dominant position. The proportion of exterior wall latex paint in the total paint has increased from 25% to 30%, and there is still a momentum of continuous growth
the construction coating industry has begun to form a certain scale. There are more than 20 backbone enterprises with an annual output of more than 5000 tons, and more than 10 10000 ton enterprises, including Nippon coating (China) Co., Ltd. (in Shanghai), Langfang Nippon coating Co., Ltd., Nippon coating (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. (in Huizhou), bonamen Swire paint (China) Co., Ltd. (in Guangzhou), Suzhou Nippon coating Co., Ltd Chongqing Hongqi paint Co., Ltd., bonamen Swire paint (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Zhongnan building materials Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shenzhen arigato paint Co., Ltd., Guangdong China Resources paint Co., Ltd. The output of backbone enterprises accounts for about 50% of the total output of architectural coatings (according to the output of architectural coatings published by the National Bureau of statistics, it was 663100 tons in 2002 and 773000 tons in 2003, excluding production enterprises with an annual output value of less than 5million). The total output of Nippon and Bonaparte Swire paint (China) Co., Ltd. (belonging to ICI Group) accounts for the absolute advantage of the national latex paint output, reflecting that the industrialization, specialization and scale of China's architectural coatings are taking shape
policy environment ensures the healthy development of architectural coatings
architectural coatings, as an important part of the four major chemical building materials, has become a major pillar industry in the field of building materials, and will surpass other chemical building materials products and maintain stable development for a long period of time. The development of architectural coatings has received strong support from the central and local governments at all levels. The Ministry of construction and the national chemical building materials coordination group have successively published important documents such as "several opinions on strengthening the production and promotion of chemical building materials in China", "several opinions on strengthening technological innovation and promoting the industrialization of chemical building materials", "opinions on strengthening the production and application management of building coatings", which has promoted the healthy development of the industry. Industry authorities in Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Hebei, Fujian and other provinces have also issued many effective policies
on March 18, 2004, the Ministry of Construction issued announcement No. 218 "promotion, application and restriction of prohibited technologies by the Ministry of construction", in which 16 items (No. 184-199) are involved in the promotion, restriction and prohibition of architectural coatings in the field of new building materials and construction technology. Figure 2 shows the utilization of improved material emission performance, including 8 items for promotion, 2 items for restriction and 6 items for prohibition. Synthetic resin lotion interior and exterior wall coatings, waterborne wood coatings and other waterborne products are being promoted. With the announcement of the Ministry of construction, some products with backward technology or serious environmental pollution will gradually withdraw from the market, and the promotion rate of various high-performance latex coatings will be greatly improved
standardization promotes the integration of China's architectural coatings with the world
the performance indicators of the standards are the reflection of the technical level of the industry. Improving and perfecting the standards of various raw materials used in the production of architectural coatings, the technical standards and environmental protection and health indicators of various architectural coatings and related products is an important guarantee for improving product quality, eliminating backward products and improving the technical level of the whole industry
in recent years, the preparation and revision of the standards and specifications of China's architectural coatings industry have made considerable progress and development, and have received unprecedented attention. From 2000 to now, more than 10 national and industrial standards related to architectural coatings have been approved and published by the state and the Ministry of construction. In addition to product standards, the code for construction and acceptance of architectural coatings JGJ/t29-2003 "code for construction and acceptance of architectural finishing engineering" has also been officially issued. Among them, the State Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine has entered the stage of industrial transformation and upgrading with the research and development of new materials and new technologies as the core. In 2002, Document No. 392 encouraged enterprises to participate in the certification of products and quality management system, and promulgated 10 mandatory national standards "limit of harmful substances in interior decoration materials" organized and formulated by the National Standardization Commission, which caused strong repercussions, Gb18582 "limit of harmful substances in interior wall coatings of interior decoration materials" related to architectural coatings stipulates the limit indicators of volatile organic compounds (VOC), free formaldehyde and heavy metals. This is the first time that China has formulated a mandatory standard on environmental protection indicators of architectural coatings. Its introduction has greatly promoted the improvement of environmental protection technology of architectural coatings in China. With the implementation of this standard, the environmental protection awareness of production enterprises has been significantly improved, and some inferior products that seriously pollute the environment have been gradually withdrawn from the market. Instead, environmental friendly and high-tech architectural coatings, such as OC latex paint, antibacterial and bactericidal latex paint, functional paint that releases negative ions and adsorbs peculiar smell, can be customized according to the needs of the ultra-low V experimental journey. They have been applied in some projects with high requirements, and have been recognized and welcomed by the market
in addition to national and industrial standards, manufacturers have also greatly increased their attention to enterprise standards. In large and medium-sized enterprises, most products have formulated corresponding enterprise standards, and some product indicators are higher than national or industrial standards
there has been significant progress in the formulation and revision of relevant standards and norms in China's architectural coatings industry, which is reflected in the participation of some backbone production enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises in this work, which not only solves the problem of the shortage of funds for formulating standards, but also makes the formulation of standards more progressiveness, scientific and practical. The second performance is that attention has been paid to the formulation of standards for raw materials and supporting products related to architectural coatings, such as "lotion for architectural coatings" and "putty for building exterior walls". The former is pending approval, and the latter has been officially announced. The standard number is JG/t157-2004, which has been implemented since June 1, 2004
